At Phat Dyes you can buy one of a kind, hand crafted, Tie-Dye t-shirts and tapestries. All the Tie-Dyes are made on 100% cotton and dyed with Procion MX dyes. Our ancestors might not have use Procion MX, but they have been using tie dying as an artistic outlet for centuries. Tying and dyeing clothing is an art form which is as old as mankind.

Each Tie Dye I make is unique so I create a webpage for each one. Then when the Tie Dye sells I move it over to the either the

T-Shirt Archives or the Tapestry Archives pages.

I have also created tie dye video instructions on DVD that teach how-to make great tie dyes. In each tie dye class I give teach you the methods that I use and have been using for years to make tie dyes.

There are 3 different "learn how to tie dye" DVDs available.

You will also find a free video class on how to tie dye a 'V' pattern on a shirt. You can find slide shows of shirts and tapestries I have made over the years. These are great inspiration if you are learning or already making tiedyes.

About the Tie Dyes

• Tie-Dye Tapestries are great artsy room decorations. They bring color and life to a not so interesting room. You can cover tables with them, put them in frames to hang on the wall, or put them under glass for a table.

• The Multi-pattern Tee shirts are definitely the most interesting to me. They have two designs on them which allows me to more room to be artistic. Many times unique color blending and interesting unintended patterns arise in the multi-pattern shirts. They will definitely make you stand out in a crowd.

• The Single pattern Tie Dyes are the perfect typical Tie-Dyed tee-shirt. What is on the front is also on the back. They can be very intricate in design and show the eye catching blends of symmetry and blending colors.

• Ladies Tie Dye tee-shirts are on women's style shirts. They usually are single pattern designs but can be made as multi-pattern by simply requesting any pattern on any style cotton shirt via email.

• Kids Tie Dyes. Their faces just stay lit up when they're wearing them. They love all the bright colors and fun designs. It's like a coloring book tshirt to them! Many of the patterns available in the custom section can be put on to any size kids shirt or anything made of 100% cotton.

The first DVD is designed to teach you how to make tie dyes. You will learn all about the chemicals, the tools, the procedures, the processes, and much more, before you learn how to make awesome looking tie dye patterns.

The second instructional tiedye video teaches you how to make the star pattern on a shirt and on a tapestry. This video doesn't just show you the same pattern twice so that you can get a better grasp on the concept, but it also shows you the two different techniques for folding the star patterns, so that you can utilize the cotton more efficiently depending on if you're working with a sheet or a shirt.

The third tie dye instruction DVD will teach you how to complete the butterfly tie dye pattern on a tapestry sheet. These instructions teach you how to create more complex tie dye designs by not only showing you how to utilize your current skills, but it also teaches you new methods for folding & tying intricate patterns like the butterfly.
